Hytera introduces the VM750D Push-to-Talk capable Body Worn Camera

Hytera’s latest body worn camera, the VM750D, offers a wide range of sophisticated features and applications designed to capture, store and upload digital evidence such as pictures, video and audio recorded in the field. Furthermore, it doubles as a Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) radio, so users do not have to carry a second device to access voice communications.

Body worn cameras (BWCs) are increasingly being used by law enforcement agencies to provide greater transparency, better evidence gathering, and to enhance user safety. BWCs can play a vital role in building trust with the public by promoting better police officer and security guard accountability and by enhancing the transparency of incidents involving police, security personnel and citizens.

BWCs can also help to protect the wearer by deterring aggressive and violent behaviour, as people often calm down if they realise they are being filmed. In addition, video and audio data can capture what really happened during an incident. This data provides much stronger evidence in court than just relying on verbal testimonies, increasing the likelihood of a successful prosecution.

For these reasons, it is essential that customers select the right body worn camera to match their actual requirements. The VM750D is compact and lightweight (210g with battery). It features a 2.8-inch screen and is highly robust, as it is IP68 certified against water and dust ingress and can withstand drops of up to 2m. It supports infrared night vision, while electronic image stabilisation is available as an option.

Here are some of the main features provided by the VM750D.

160° Diagonal Field of View

The super wide-angle camera allows you to capture more objects in a broader scope. Even at most one meter away, the BWC can capture the hand actions at close quarters.

Intelligent Scene Detection

The BWC incorporates the multi-functional sensor that will automatically send an alarm to the control center when detecting Man down, occlusion, stay-long, dismantling.

NFC-enabled ID Switchover

The near field communication (NFC) realizes ID switchover just by holding the NFC card to the BWC. This simplifies the process of ID switchover, enhances the BWC availability, and reduces unnecessary expenses.

Be a PoC Radio

The BWC serves as a push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) radio. Over 3G, 4G, or WLAN networks, this camera allows you to make a voice call simply by pressing the push-to-talk (PTT) key. Thanks to the advanced noise cancellation technology, the camera picks up your voice while removing the ambient noise.

Fast Positioning

The BWC provides fast positioning services by using GPS, GLONASS, BDS, together with AGPS in the public network. Thanks to the advanced position algorithm, the BWC delivers precise location quickly.

AES-256 Encryption

VM750D adopts the AES-256 advanced encryption technology to protect all the captured evidence (including images, audio and videos) in local storage.
